Cold, wet, windy and dark

What a horrible, horrible, day. We could hear the wind and rain battering on the windows all night and when we woke up and opened the curtains, it was pitch black. I went out for my walk in my illuminating collar first time this winter because Ann was worried that she wouldn't be able to see me. Not that I ever get let off my lead when it's that dark, but it's always useful for motorists to be able to see me when I'm crossing the road.


We trudged around the streets in horrendous rain and wind. It was a horrible walk and we both ended up soaked through to our skins. I had to be thoroughly dried and Ann had to take off all her clothes.  I know, I know, that's far tmi!!!  After breakfast, Ann went to work (only 3 customers came into the shop in the first couple of hours) and I had snooze time. When she came home from work, guess where she found me?....................... In my little bed in the living room. I always get shut in the kitchen area when she goes out and I have to snooze in my big bed, but this morning she forgot to shut the gate between the kitchen and living room so I went into my fav little bed. Ann was very pleased with me. The reason I get shut in the kitchen is because she thinks I'll go on the sofas if she's not looking, so she was very happy to see me in my own bed. In fact she was so happy that she said we might be able to get rid of the dog gate altogether, now that I'm a big grown up little collie. Yay!


It temporarily stopped raining for a couple of hours around midday and when I first went out for my afternoon walk it wasn't raining. It was still very cold, dark & windy though. I went to 'Braidburn Valley Park'. OMG?! It was totally flooded. It's the worst we've ever seen it. Obviously I had the bestest time ever, because I was running around and splish, splash, sploshing in all the 'new' ponds, but parts of the path were flooded so my human ended up with very wet feet and I ended up with a muddy tummy again. By the time we got home at 3.30pm it was pouring with rain again, it's  5.30pm now and it's still raining.


Not going out again until it's time for my bedtime wee.
