Luminous

Another afternoon that forgot it was Spring, another walk in the rain - but the rain stopped for long enough to look up and notice how luminous appeared the moss on these tree-trunks, and how festooned with lichen were some of their branches.

Kilmun Arboretum and the forestry track leading on from it are full of colour just now - vividly green grass, the froth of new leaves, the intense blue of bluebells just coming into flower, the russet of last year's bracken. Even a blink of sun brings it alive. Spring, Jim, but not as we know it ...
