Chelsea Dagger

Someone asked us to do “Chelsea Dagger” by the Fratellis on Monday night and, whilst I sort of picked up the main riff and chorus, the verses were a bit of a mystery to me! It was decided though that we would put it in the set for tonight, so I thought I’d better get on with learning it.
A quick search on Google produced the necessary chord charts and “play along” videos, and I settled down to an afternoon of working out a bass line to suit. It proved reasonably straightforward, once I’d got my head round it, but I needed a few attempts to get up to the right tempo. We shall see how it turns out later on tonight.
I’m still full of cold but will dose myself up with cold and flu capsules and hope that they, and the adrenalin of playing, will get me through to the end - with hopefully a bit of energy in reserve for the drive home.
At least I’ll then have a couple of days to recharge the batteries before the NYE gig - I have a feeling I’m going to need a good rest!
