Obelisk and Arrows

This obelisk has been built in the middle of the roundabout at the Shawfair Park and Ride. I have no idea what it represents or its purpose although it may mark the boundary between Edinburgh and Midlothian. It is difficult to get a good angle on it from outside so resorted to a shot through the the window of the SQA building. I like the collection of arrows too!
