Dalkeith

Dalkeith is not the most attractive town you will find but I have been coming here on an annual basis for many years on exam business . The town has a rather tired 1960s centre and recently a huge area which housed a bus depot has been flattened.Perhaps surprisingly the town is twinned with Jarnac in France, home of Courvoisier brandy.
Like most Scottish towns of course it has a memorial to the war dead and much work has been done to preserve the monument and to create colourful surroundings.
