Boxing Day Hunt (26/12)

The Croome Hunt traditionally meets in town on Boxing Day. This is the first year we’ve seen it since we lived here, and what a turnout! The meet riders and horses looked magnificent: all the horses had their manes plaited with tinsel! They congregated in the centre for about half an hour, chatting to the crowds. Whatever your views on “fox” hunting, it was made clear this was a social event with animal welfare ( horses and hounds) at the heart of it. There are now no foxes chased or killed it was made clear. Good PR and a really respectful crowd.

There must have been a couple of thousand people lining the streets, and when the meet set off there were huge cheers. Quite stirring!
After that we popped to asda for bread and milk.
Once home it was time to eat a lazy lunch, leftovers, + fresh gammon , jacket potatoes and /more/ pigs in blankets before settling down to football, specifically the AV game. Disappointment again! Katie designed a quiz for us for Thursday.
Then we had supper ( or some of them did) ( same again- see above) before more games- Randomise, Quirkle and Jack Change it. Katie romped to victory in Quirkle, despite never playing before,. Another good day!
