Shopping is not fun!
I usually shop on Fridays but I thought to go a little earlier this morning. Good job I did. A number of things on my list were almost sold out and some things were entirely sold out. Fortunately, we have well-stocked cupboards so the few things I couldn't get won't matter.
Not one pouch of Tesco's basmati or pilau rice left, only 2 Hovis wholemeal loaves, no guinness at all, no Coke, no bottles of my favourite wine, no cartons of my preferred fruit juice, no tinned potatoes, only 1 pack of Tassimo cappuccino pods etc. etc. Crikey, are people preparing for a siege?
It hadn't seemed so bad when I got to Tesco but things got busy very quickly and it was becoming chaotic by the time I finished - we didn't need a lot this week and on a normal day it would have been a quick visit but some of the aisles were blocked by trolleys.
Everyone seemed to be going with the flow and nobody seemed to be irritated or trying to shove in / past - must be the festive spirit!
I had my stuff on the conveyor belt when I noticed the young man behind me had only a few items so I let him go before me - he was so grateful, you'd think I'd given him a winning lottery ticket!
I got PWT going back to my car and I had forgotten where I'd parked but my guess was correct thankfully as it was torrential.
My till receipt partially dissolved due to the downpour despite it being in one of the bags.
It was a long queue to get off the car park but surprisingly, the linkway was quiet - not so the main road through town.
Called at mum's to drop off a Christmas hamper I'd put together and we had a chat before I drove home.
PWT again taking in the shopping then the recycling containers and wheelie bin! The rain has not stopped all day and it's now 5:30pm.
I feel sorry for anyone who has to shop tomorrow.
Not budging out of our home for the next 2 days.
The sprouts were a bargain at 19p! Reduced from 95p.
