Tristan
We've had the joy and the delight of spending time with our great-grandson, Tristan, yesterday and today. He's 2 years, 3 months old. Here he is watching himself on Grandpa Fun's "Flip Video Camera." Tristan doesn't know quite what to think about seeing himself on that small screen. We had fun watching him watch himself.
We took this photo at our daughter's home. In the background is Tristan's Aunt Ashly and not quite visible is his mom, Desiree. The girls are 5 months apart and have grown up spending lots of time together.
Des and Tristan are now living with Aunt Dede & Uncle John, Ashly, and Emerson. It's a full house, but we think it is such a good place for Des and Tristan. If it truly takes a village, then I think Tristan has the start of a good one.
Our daughter, Dede (she now prefers Deidre [pronounced: deed dra]) loves kids and is a teacher's aide in the local school district, and Uncle John has been the best Daddy to his own two that we've ever seen and both John & Dede are lavishing love on Tristan. All of this is an immense blessing to us.
When we got home last night Grandpa Fun said to me, "Gosh, we could raise him." Oh my!
Well, a number of years ago when our first grand child, Ashly, was born, we knew that we had started having kids 20 years too early. Our first born--our son Shawn--was born on my 16th birthday. So when I was 38, they changed my title to Gramma! We've been enthralled with grandchildren ever since.
This is anniversary week--we did get married on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend (back in the dark ages) but that year Memorial Day was the very last day of May. So we're going to celebrate all week long. I may even put on my wedding dress, just to make Mr. Fun's heart skip a beat! We hope you'll have a good week too.
Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
