Chocolate truffles

A busy day! I collected Gilly’s shop for her as they went to visit friends in Carlisle. Then made the garlic bread, and started the chocolate truffles. Anyone who has followed the Delia Smith Christmas will know that these are an essential last minute make, without which Christmas is incomplete.
The builders arrived to try to sort out our driveway, and after making some excavations we agreed that the problem is probably frost heave caused by that cold snap and rapid thaw. Still leaves us with a very dodgy surface though….
Alas, Gilly phoned from the motorway on the way back to ask for a lift home from the garage, as the car has developed a suspension issue. Miraculously they found a garage that can look at it tomorrow.
We had a wonderful curry ready for them, which we all enjoyed, Wendy tucked into paneer with gusto!
We got the truffles finished after supper, then some knitting to finish and the arrival of Andrew and Katie to complete the day! Phew.
