Ale And Hearty

I wanted to get some of my favourite beers in for Christmas from the local craft brewery, Glastonbury Ales, this morning. 

The brewery and shop are situated in a converted farmhouse which sits at the foot of the Tor, so it gave us an excuse for a brisk circular walk around the back of the Tor. We didn’t join the people going up and down the Tor itself but it still got the heart pumping.

This afternoon we made a start on Christmas food preparation: I baked a couple of loaves of olive bread while Tess made the bread sauce and a large pot of braised red cabbage, which is cooking slowly as I write and feeling the house with a Christmassy smell.
