Portsmouth, sneak preview of the new Mary Rose Mus

This figurehead of the HMS Trafalgar, depicting Nelson, can be found in the Historic Dockyard of Portsmouth, just outside the new Mary Rose Museum.

The most striking feature about this figurehead is the unpainted right eye. Nelson famously lost the sight of this eye at the siege of Calvi in 1794, although he never actually lost the eye.
