Hirta and the stacks from the back of Boreray
I'll leave the classic St Kilda village shot to rp1, but I can confirm it was a pretty amazing day. We brought a load of books for the boat trip, but realised once we got going that the best we would be doing is looking at the horizon and trying not to bang our heads on the roof. After one and a half hours in what was described as a 'lazy swell', that bit was starting to wear.
After a sunny 4 hours on Hirta, we came back via Boreray and the stacks, where the main guga (young gannet) hunts were carried out. Apparently, the trick was to find the 'watchman' gannet and do away with him first.
The only thing that we couldn't do was have a taste of the dried-puffin-infused porridge that sounds so appetising. Apparently, it's now frowned upon.
