Connections

"Why is today's photo a shot of the back of the TV? " I hear you ask. .Well.....

I could say it's a visual metaphor for my day that was, in many ways all about connections, and that wouldn't be wrong. Opening another box of treasures from my shipment from Turkey and also the last box of Christmas tree decorations, there were certainly a lot of memories unwrapped today, and my thinking turned to folk in my life both near, and far, and, of some no longer here.  Quite a few of the tree decs were originally Mum and Dad's, others collected by me in both Russia and Turkey, some are gifts from friends - really quite a cornucopia of tears and joy.

However, the practical reason for the pic is that it is, simply,  the only one I took today,  as part of my "Do I want to buy a Smart TV, or an Amazon fire stick or just connect my phone or laptop to the TV. while I am here in UK?" Options 1 and 2 will of course, also require getting wifi - not an easy decision when I still don't know how long I'll be here in Blighty, and I daresay internet costs more per calendar month than the £7 I pay in Turkey!!  

After a very satisfying afternoon of Christmas shopping, I called in to see Maddy and Charlie, who promptly invited me to stay for dinner!  Homemade vegetable curry. Yummy.  The rest of my evening was spent wrapping gifts and watching Netflix on my phone. My Generation Z relatives would be proud....
