Ditto and driving
The only discernible difference between yesterday and today, apart from the fact that the tree still isn't finished, is that I drove Maddy and William the short distance to their Dad's house this evening for the four of us to have dinner together... not sure my bro has ever cooked for me before - it was a very tasty veggie Spag Bol.
It took me twenty minutes to scrape the snow and ice off the car and run the engine till the car was warm enough and windows were clear before we set off. At a rough guess, I'm going to say that I haven't had to do that for about thirty years (since living and working in Essex). Snow and ice is not something that happens in Akbuk, and when I lived in Istanbul with a car, I'd call a cab rather than drive in snow - Istanbul is crazy town for driving on a warm sunny day, and I certainly wasn't going to do it at night in the snow!
