Unwinding

Another step through spring in my garden. Here is one of the fronds of a fern unwinding. Compared to many of the more cultivated plants, ferns are so prehistoric. It's amazing to see the fronds as tight little balls and then start to slowly unfurl. It's like plant yoga!
