A Route Along The Canal

As well as coming up to Birmingham for the Rod Stewart concert, we’d also arranged a reunion with the people we met on our Vietnam holiday two years ago when most of us ended up stranded in Cambodia by lockdown. We’ve all kept in touch ever since but this was the first time we’d all met up together. 

When we were shown to our table at breakfast we found ourselves sitting next to 2 of our number who we didn’t even know were staying in the same hotel and were soon chatting like we’d met every day.

We ended up walking along the canal with them in the morning before meeting everyone else in a pub for drinks before having an Italian meal, renewing the camaraderie formed during that unforgettable holiday.

We had to leave early evening to get to the concert where Rod put on his customary brilliant show, ending a memorable day
