Bank holiday Monday was spent at Witley Court and gardens. When we pulled up in the car park we saw the huge queue and were not looking forward to the lengthy wait to get inside, then we discovered one of the advantages of being English Heritage members meant that we could walk straight to the head of the queue and get shown in immediately.
The buildings were gutted by fire in 1937, although as you view them from a distance they still hold all the grandeur that they would have done in their heyday. The fountains allowed my to combine the impressing buildings with the water challenge for this week.
