Over the hill

That’s the sun I’m talking about, not myself! As the winter solstice draws near, the sun disappears behind the hill at the back of our house by 1.00pm, leaving most of the garden in the shade as we look out enviously to the other side of the loch bathed in sunshine. However, this is just for a few weeks in the middle of winter, quite a different story in spring and summer, and we are ever grateful for the shelter provided by the hill when the wind blows in a bit rough.
