Happy 10th birthday Thomas

It was a lovely sunny, but cold, day so after I’d made Thomas’s birthday cake, Chris and I went for a walk from Blue Mill up the red road and then her favourite, very muddy, path along the tops back to the wood. There was snow at around 2000ft on Cheviot which we could see from the top.

Mr C and I drove to Whitley Bay, picked James up from school and while Mr C took him home I browsed in the second-hand clothes shop #2 daughter likes, but couldn’t see anything she’ll like for Christmas from it. James was pleased because he’d got a bronze certificate for reading. He tries so hard and is definitely making progress.

When Phil got home Thomas opened his present from us, a Technik lego which he was happy about. He’d got a chess set from his parents so he played with his dad for a while then Mr C and James played. James did well and warned Mr C about potential trouble he’d get himself into. We got an Indian takeaway for the birthday tea and had cake after.

The journey home was a mission as the A19 was closed. There was no diversion shown - presumably it’s expected we all have google. Luckily we have so found an alternative route.
