Church
This is a superb example of a Georgian Church. It is next to Sheerness docks in a part called 'Blue Town,' because of it's association with the navy. As you can see it is being repaired . When I last took photos work had just started. There was no roof and certainly open to the elements. The roof is now in place and I was hoping to have a look inside. That couldn't happen as work inside was still going on. The construction company is called 'Coniston,' like the village and lake in the LD.
How many times have I tried to photo a heron? Although not a heron, but an egret, I watched it shuffling its feet to search out fish etc to eat. Would you believe there were two of them, but this one stayed in the creek at Queenborough.
By the by the docks are now a commercial port with a variety of imports. Long ago sailing ships from exotic places docked here as well as navy ships. A high wall encloses the dockyard. Within the wall you can find yellow tailed scorpions. They began to arrive about 200 years ago and have lived there since! The weird and the wonderful.
