Daytime Television
J had two calls yesterday, following on from her 25 hours in A&E and asking her to come in this morning for follow up tests. Not expected, despite the reassurances it unsettled us.,
So this early morning into early afternoon found us back at the hospital. Most of that time was spent in the newest part of the hospital, the SDEC - NHS jargon for Same Day Emergency Care.
The blip represents a significant part of the day, and is my view for most of the morning. We don’t watch daytime TV, and having spent this amount of time with presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and guests Vanessa Felz and Giles Brandreth, we’re not missing anything. In the image the merits of different conifer species as Christmas trees is being outlined, so bizarrely this is my first seasonal blip. Loose Women ended our viewing - to my surprise, Janet Street Porter is still on TV.
We were glad to get out to head home. J has more hospital tomorrow, but it’s the one she usually goes to and so “ routine”. She and I will both be glad to have a break from it all. Apparently something called Christmas is around the corner.
No sun today, and not really an opportunity to fake it with an artificial light. This is more of a tribute to the sunny disposition of many of the NHS staff. They all work really hard, and many of them work really long hours. After all they’ve been through since 2020, they do not deserve the effective pay cut that the government wants them to accept. And to say they’ll be supporting Putin by not accepting an effective pay cut is outrageous.
