. . . at the new potatoes. K our neighbour at No4 keeps referring to the potatoes as OUR potatoes meaning ours and hers. This afternoon the forester decided to have a look and see if they are ready. It has been a sunny day and I spent it weeding the largest flower boarder. There has been more positive news from Christchurch and if my sister continues to remain stable she will go to Burwood Hospital at the end of the week. It was rebuilt after the earthquakes and is modern with an older persons rehabilitation unit.
Yesterdays VW sparked memories for some of you. I could have included mine. My parents bought a brand new yellow beetle in 1963. We went on trips all around the North Island in it. I remember when driving at night the lights weren't very bright. I think that was because it had a small battery. In 1971 I learned to drive in it. Mum keep it and drove it until she went to live with my sister in Christchurch in the nineties. When I was cleaning out her house I found all the service records.
