Anticipation!!

The big event is tonight, so we spent the early part of the day at Tate Modern. Haven’t been there for years and it was new to Stefan so we were there for ages. The meander back to Waterloo via Bank Side was busy with loads of people and very cold. Such a change from the previous week.

I was in need of a sleep before we had early dinner in the pub across the way.

Getting to our event wasn’t straight forward as there were track works and we ended up getting an Uber from Canary Wharf to Pudding Mill Lane !!!

Such excitement to see the arena for ABBA Voyage. We were in plenty of time to have a drink first and then take our seats to watch everyone arrive. R & S were in the dance area next to the stage, whereas we were central back row but one, in the seated area. Perfect to be able to see every thing going on.

It was the most fantastic show, the whole presentation was faultless. People sang and danced and enjoyed themselves. It was in 1974 that ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest, the year before R was born, and many of the audience were also youngsters. There weren’t many oldies like us that I could see.

I sang and danced and expected to be wiped out by the time we got back to the UJC, but had the energy for a gin and tonic in the bar before bed.

This outing was our Christmas present from R & S. A night of making new memories and recalling old ABBA related ones from R’s childhood. Awesome!!!!

Filming is not allowed during the show, but pictures could be taken before the show.
