Weihnachtsmarkt

If my memory serves me correctly - and, to be honest, it doesn't always - then the first time we came to Berlin we were slightly too early for the Christmas markets. Or maybe it was the second time? Anyway, this year we resolved to get back to experience them.

Which required a three o'clock start this morning, with a taxi arriving at four. On the bright side, this meant we were in Berlin for half-past nine local time with a full day ahead of us, so we dropped our suitcases at the hotel and had brunch at the little café called 'A Never Ending Love Story'.

After that, we had a wander around the area, which we've stayed near before, took in a small fair, as pictured, and then went to check-in to the hotel and to do a Teams meeting. It's rare that we're both on the same work call, but it went well enough; I got excited about possibilities and the Minx kept us grounded in the here and now :-)

In the evening, we'd planned to go back to Schwarzes Café, once frequented by Iggy Pop and David Bowie, but it was full, so we moved on, ending up in an Italian restaurant that was so good that we decided we'd have to come back this week!
