Llyn Crafnant
We’re blessed with calm, crisp, largely sunny weather yet again, and even better, have time to take a longer walk. Again there is the ‘problem’ of deciding where to go - we’re so lucky to have these choices.
I’ve been wanting to return to Llyn Crafnant for some time - we’ve not been there for two whole years - and so we head up the steep single-track road from Trefriw through mixed woodland still sporting the rich shades of autumn, eventually reaching the car park for the lake. We’re in a world of green as we walk up to Crafnant itself; here every surface seems to be softly muffled in a coat of emerald moss. It’s magical - almost a secret world.
The still conditions provide us with the perfect mirror lake, the colours softly muted by the natural filter of the clouds. And of course, I take far too many shots, every few steps providing yet another glorious vista. It’s another’ impossible to choose’ set - and I’m not at all sure whether I’ve selected the ‘best’ for my main! I dread to think what I’ll be like when we reach New Zealand!
