Prickly fruit

I am not sure what this shrub is but the small, prickly fruit caught my eye when I went for a long walk by Lake Washington with the dogs.
It is my last full day in Seattle before catching the flight back to England tomorrow evening. It will be Wednesday evening by the time I arrive home of all is on schedule.
