Gardening day

To be fair, Soul had done a good days work before we had even hauled ourselves out of bed. Always one to have a project he arrived even earlier than normal to strip out the garden on our pavement and replace it with cuttings he has been nurturing in pots in the lapa. The man is a marvel, and we are so lucky to have his services, not to mention him being a good friend.

Late afternoon we headed out to a braai with Arnie’s tennis mates. The monthly braai is always fun but we hadn’t been for a while so it was good to catch up with everyone. It was especially important to see Dan who always hosts the braai. The founding member of the club, he is now 88, and really enjoys the company. It was more work for his daughters though as Dan has just come out of hospital after a bout of pneumonia. He is doing amazingly well, despite being covered in bumps and bruises from a recent fall.

We drove home in another hectic storm of heavy rain and hail, our weather is really bonkers at the moment.
