Norwich

PY and I were on the 57 from Raynes Park at 9:15am. We rode the bus to Streatham where we got off and met-up with Mark and Rob.  We are all off to Norwich for a long-weekend.  Originally, we were due to go to Belfast but British Airways cancelled the flights. With all the trouble airlines and airports are having recruiting staff and, therefore, servicing the summer holiday travel demand, we decided that the replacement trip would be somewhere we could drive to and we all settled on Norwich.  It did seem to take a long time to cross London and go under the Thames at the Dartford crossing  before emerging onto the A12. After that, however, it was reasonably easy and a mainly straight road.

At 3pm we headed to the Airbnb house that we were renting. We spent a long time trying to open the key box under the wall until we realised we were trying to open the wrong box.

Later, we walked for our dinner reservation at Don Txoko, a Spanish tapas restaurant. Norwich appeared very busy and I am glad we booked. The tapas was delicious. We were sat at the back but the kitchen. The cellar door was just behind us and it was fascinating to watch the staff head down to the cellar only to return with fizzy water. The wine came out of a temperature controlled unit near the doing tables.  For some reason the team thought it was too noisy were we were sat and the offered one of the plates on the house. As well as a little sherry.
