False horizon
Today was my first outing this year with the walking group. We climbed to a little over 1000 metres and stopped for lunch at the old chapel high above Villefranche. The view took in all the villages of the Vernet valley on the left and the Sahorre valley on the right, neatly showing the ridge that separates them. The line of clouds could be mistaken for the horizon but for a little piece of the Canigou massif peeping through. I shall now soak my aching limbs.
