Wound up in Wexford

By Neatwithice

Another day, another house ....

.... another long drive.  And almost cancelled at the last minute!  After 2 and a half hours and 190km, just 5 minutes from the house, we had a phone call from the Estate Agent.  Eion was supposed to meet us there, but his dad had died rather suddenly over the weekend, and although he had cancelled most of his appointments, he appears to have overlooked us.  His co-worker rang to cancel, but I pointed out how far we had travelled, and asked if there was any possibility of arranging something.  She managed to get access and drove over to show us around.

The house was lovely, airy, with a wildflower meadow in the back garden.  But some incomprehensible use of the internal space (huge hallways, and an enormous family bathroom, but smaller bedrooms) left us feeling that it would not really work for us without a lot of money spending, and as it was at the top end of our budget, we will not be buying it.

One bedroom had this odd collection of "stuff" on the desk.

Late lunch in Carlow, a stop in Roscrea to charge the car, and we were home by just after 7.  W is getting better, though still coughing and feeling a bit rough (and still negative for Covid) so I did the driving for the whole trip - will be ready for bed soon.
