The story revolves round a small area of London that declares itself independent of the big city. It's an excellent watch.

If it was ever to be remade I would suggest that the Leith area of Edinburgh would be a perfect choice of location. The good folk of the port see themselves as somewhat different and removed from the rest of Auld Reekie's inhabitants.

Where else would you see a shop that proudly boasts 'snobby greetings cards' for sale?
