Coneysthorpe

After a good stretch in Pilates I had a few things to collect in Malton. This provided a good opportunity to have a change of scenery for a walk. We called in at Coneysthorpe a small village on the edge of the Castle Howard Estate. We decided to walk up towards the Howardian Hills escarpment. 

We were surprised at how much Autumn colour still remained. We speculated as to why that might be. Deciding it was on the lee side of the hill.

Rather liked this view as we returned to the village. The extra shows one of the stand out trees.
