The last jelly roll in the box

A dry day, which was most helpful as the Oven cleaning man came this morning. It involves a great deal of in and out of the back door to access the gear in the back of his van, so the absence of rain is helpful.

We are in the process of doing some decorating in my sewing room, so some of the contents have moved to the spare bedroom and decorating covers (old sheets) draped over what’s left. I needed to do some sewing so had to make an uncovered space and set up the sewing machine and other bits. It has taken up until 9pm to do what should have been done before dinner.

The after effects of my flu jab, sore arm last night and tiredness today haven’t been too bad.

The quilt and cushions in my blip and now finished and will be going to a new home in December. I bought the jelly roll 5 or 6 years ago and the pattern was shared with one of my sewing group ladies. It was interesting to make and surprisingly quick. The leftover pieces were joined up to make the cushions. I’ve put a picture showing the backing fabric. It was super wide fabric, so no need to piece it and was manufactured in New Zealand.

It is a gift for one of B’s athletes who is now at Uni locally. She is a kind hard working youngster and will appreciate something to help keep her warm this winter. I’m always happy to see the material escaping from the stash.
