Keep Your Eye on the Ball.
This happy but bedraggled collie is clearly more intelligent than the German shepherd that featured in Roslin about a week ago. This chap's attention was firmly fixed from the moment he dropped his ball at his pet's feet until it was firmly returned to its rightful place clamped between his jaws.
I took a stroll in Badock's Wood this afternoon, spring was in the air, hawthorn and sycamore blossom were abundant, the horse chestnut blossom was emerging, the bluebells and wild garlic were flowering and the foliage was a bright green.
The wood is probably about 400 years old and was purchased by Sir Stanley Badock in 1905 and gifted to the City of Bristol in 1937 "for the enjoynment of the local people."
The lime trees on the neighbouring streets that had been badly butchered by the toon cooncil last autumn were completely bare.
And, the sun was shining brightly - probably for the last time this year
