Looking West
Remembrance Sunday. It therefore seemed appropriate that we visited Harwood Park, and the young oak tree beside which my mum’s ashes lie. The tree is doing fine, and it’s a lovely spot.
Then to dad’s. He was wearing one of the tops we bought yesterday. It fits well ! He sleeps a lot, which means we find ourselves watching the TV, which is always on. We watched 3 episodes of “Murder she Wrote” yesterday, and today it was “Columbo”. All very …….. 20th century :-)
A good journey home. J drove the last stretch. There were fine intermittent views of the setting sun as we travelled through Staffordshire. By the time we crossed the Manchester Ship Canal on the Thelwall Viaduct the sun had set, but the reddening sky provided a good backdrop to the decommissioned Fiddlers Ferry power station.
