Liberation tea
Normal day today although it was a bit of a shock returning to normal after the beautiful bank holiday.
In Guernsey we also get a bank holiday on May 9th to remember/celebrate the day the island was liberated from German Occupation - Liberation Day.
At Brownies tonight we celebrated a bit early with 'high tea'. It was in out front garden and everyone either came in 1940s style or red, white and blue.. The Brownies made scones first and while they cooked made themselves a sandwich. Then the tables were cleaned and laid up for tea. Flowers were picked and tea made in pots. They had a great time pouring and drinking tea, eating sandwiches and spreading jam and cream thickly on their freshly baked scones. It was all a novelty to most.
In quiet moments they got the long skipping rope out.
It was a lovely evening.
