Youth

Home mid-morning once again from the latest overnighter at work and, after a pedal out back to clear the head, spin the legs and fill the ears with an expertly-compiled (ahem) playlist it was into town with my two girls.

They're into art and I'm a member of the National Galleries these days so it was a great chance to go and see the big Impressionism exhibition again (The last weekend! We had to queue! It was heaving!) in my case, and for them to see it before it finishes. Lots to like, highlight for me once again was the room with the Matisse 'Jazz' series - inspirational. And I may have hinted that if there was, say, a book containing all the various works then it may make an ideal Christmas present for a certain someone.

Afterwards there was coffee and cake and shopping and the bus home just in time for the imminent arrival of the Chinese.

"Then I see a piece, by Matisse"
