Friday: Hambre

Well, this is a little bit exciting.  A new restaurant opened in Belmopan three days ago and it’s quite different from anything else that exists here.  The owner has spent time in Canada and the environment felt quite novel for here.  The food was also good - you can take a look here.  I had the pollo asado and K went for the wontons.  My starter of chicken gizzards was good but K looked like she wanted to throw them out of the window.  Wine and cocktails were also decent.  It was a solid 7/10 and we’ll definitely be back, if only because it’s important to support new places like this.

We got chatting to the owner afterwards who was at a table with his parents and some of their friends.  We had a drink with them and they all had only one question - there’s a bar on the compound that used to be open to people on a membership basis.  Was it going to re-open?  Well, we had positive developments to report on that………
