Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

All Clear!

My long awaited appointment with the optician this morning! I was in there for about an hour, half of it with the young Irish optician, who explained everything and took photos (of my eyes), and declared that they haven’t changed since last time. He was relaxed about my alarming eye incident (a ‘visual migraine’) of last week, and said that he’d had such things, they’re quite common and nothing to worry about. Unless it keeps happening…

When I left, I went to the counter to pay. All free!

I crossed the road to one of my favourite cafes - no music, and huge scones. But I did not have a scone, just a coffee. My diet is going well, but the weight is not peeling off as steadily as I would like. I walked up the road, and got a neat knife sharpener in the hardware shop.

Denise came for Archie slightly later, so that JR was home from the gym. They arrived back home just after me. Archie was very muddy! He had a bath, and then was wrapped up in a towel, which he likes. JR took him out again in the afternoon when it was dry and sunny.

Hazel has arrived at the Safari Lodge and was VERY excited about what animals she saw on her first evening drive, including the elusive leopard.

Most annoyed. Watched the whole of the excruciating first episode of ‘I’m a Celebrity’, and there was NO Hancock!! Hopefully tonight.
