So Good

Returning home after being away with friends or family means a couple of testing days for me.
I think others in similar circumstances will resonate with what l mean.
So , faced with wet and grey weather l had to decide whether to stay in or go out.
Didn’t fancy a long walk so booked one of the last three seats to see Beryl at the Ilkley Playhouse.
Had heard the play on the radio but missed it when it was in Leeds about six years ago.
Someone at Ilkley Playhouse had a connection with Maxine Peake, who wrote the play and she gave permission for this to be the first amateur production.
Mr P worshipped Beryl Burton and if we came across her cycling in our area he would drive past and jump out of the car and applaud her.
She was and still is the greatest woman cyclist of all time with her records still never beaten all these years after her death.
She was never given the recognition she deserved.

Then what a treat afterwards, her daughter Denise ( herself a cycling champion in her own right) watched the performance and did a Q&A session afterward which was a privilege to attend.
Home now and l hadn’t thought about a blip.
So here’s a corner in my house.
Having been to York many times and New York once it stills makes me smile when l read this.
