2022 Sunday — Granddaughter

These two were on a date night when they posted a selfie. So, I thought it ought to be included in my page for today.

Desiree is our second grandchild. She was born just a little more than 4 months after her cousin, our first grandchild, our red-headed Ashly. Having two so close together was a lot of fun. Three years later Emerson, our only grandson, was born. He is Ashly’s younger brother. So that gives us 3 grandkids.

Desiree is the grandkid that looks like us. She is our son’s only child. I think Des was barely 2 years old when her parents’ marriage ended in a long, long separation and then a divorce. She had a fairly tumultuous childhood, but I think she has let that make her into a strong committed wife and a dedicated mom.

Justin, Desiree’s husband, is in his final years in the U.S. Navy. He is a good, good Daddy and a wonderful husband. He is an award winning kayak fisherman. In other words, he does a lot of catching.
