One for the album
Regular readers of this column may recall that we turned up at a guitar club in a small village near Faversham only to find that the leading member of the group knew Susan’s sister from their school days in Bearsden in Glasgow in the 1960s.
As Barbara and David are down visiting Doreen and us, turning up and surprising Ramsey had to happen. They were delighted to see each other and, in between songs, talked about old times and old people. You wouldn’t think these two are sisters!
That was the highlight of the day, the club even let a humble ukulele player join in as long as I behaved myself and didn’t make too much of a racket to upset these delicate and highly strung guitars.
In the daylight hours we continued our World Tour of Garden Centres with Doreen. It could of been the same place as Monday with the exception of the cafe. The scones were not anywhere as good and the meals disappointing. David had Hobson’s Choice as they were out of sausage and mash, jacket potatoes and chilli. In the end he had to endure a panini.
Like Monday’s garden centre they didn’t have the broadbean seeds I want to sow this week. Anything else, any Christmas item you can name; no beans. In the end I ordered them on line.
