Travel Week Day 1
Monday 17 October 2022
The first day of this travel week involved a trip to Threave Garden near Castle Douglas. A very pretty place at this time of this year, and also quite interesting with an area having plants originating from the likes of Mexico, North America and Australia. There was also this bat house (extra photo) explaining the history of bats and showcases different bat droplets, making it very appropriate to visit this place at this time as well as admiring the autumn scenery. Very breezy day though. When sitting down, the leaves on the ground swirled around at points like it was a tornado!
Thanks to my YoungScot card, it only cost £1 to explore the garden, which I thought was incredible as I had thought it would have been £12 otherwise, however, that includes Threave House as well which wasn't open. The garden itself is normally £4, but still a good discount.
