Let Them Eat Cake

I had a badly needed haircut this morning, followed by a chiropody appointment. Home for lunch and Mr P’s freshly baked bread and then we spent the afternoon picking up leaves from our garden. I slipped on some and banged my knee.
Book group tonight and it was bitter sweet as we were reminiscing about our lovely friend Jenny who died recently. Most of us enjoyed the book (Still Life by Sarah Winman) but all of us loved Karine’s (our hostess) cakes. Chocolate, ginger & walnut and lemon citron. Delicious!
