New bed
I was quite busy this morning after all the gym bunnies went off. I even did a bit of ironing, but being conscious of not using too much energy (both mine and the National Grid), I only iron certain things eg there is no need to iron nighties or teeshirts, so it’s a worthy excuse to ignore them now. And, of course, only the top 12 inches of the bedsheet.
Archie and I then took a bag of items to the charity shop. Rather heavy, bulky items, I might add. In fact, half way there I very much regretted I had started this. But I met JR coming home from the gym, so she finished the job while I sat at the bus stop, recovering.
Archie and I then continued our walk down to the hardware shop. There were a few items I needed. Archie loves that shop, and just pushes open the door himself and rushes in.
One of the items I needed was a wooden spoon. JR had chucked the old ones out and now uses a big spatula thing. Why would I need a wooden spoon when I rarely cook? I hear you ask… Well, I have taken a bit of an interest of late, and actually I do like watching cooking programmes. The other night I made a passable butternut squash and chickpea curry.
Archie has a new bed. He has not really used his new bed. He sits in it now and again, though he obviously prefers the sofa, but he agreed to pose for me.
Amidst all the never-ending depressing news, there came a ray of light today - Matt Hancock (UK’s former, disgraced Health Secretary during the pandemic) will be appearing on the latest ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’. I don’t watch it, mainly because I’ve never heard of any of the ‘celebrities’, but I WILL be watching this time.
What is he thinking of?? Has he actually seen the programme??
He’s going to have a VERY hard time.
