Night Riders

I had the blip for today all planned: the cleaned greenhouse with the lemon bush and ripening lemons reinstalled. Photo taken I carried on putting plants back in and tidying up.

And then as dusk fell I took the dog for a walk and was astounded at the variety and creativity of some houses for Halloween. This one in the blip was above the front door. In their garden there was a trampoline with a 10ft ghost with internal coloured moving lights. And in their front room, a giant spider and web and bats.

Another neighbour not only had warning tape on the gate but a Dementor like figure floating in the middle of the path.

Our efforts were much more modest with an illuminated pumpkin and candles but for the first time in recent years we signalled that we were open to be visited. We had nearly 20 children all dressed up coming in groups of 2 or 3. Most had jokes but one recited a Halloween poem. All good fun and a chance to meet some of the neighbours’ children though we might not recognise them without their make up on!
