Herring

After making the breakfast pancakes for me and my youngest pre-school, and after a pedal out back, us grown-ups took oursens off on the bus up to Trinity, for lunch at Herringbone. My sesame and pepper-crusted salmon burger with fries and wasabi mayo disappointed not one jot - bloody delicious so it was. As was the accompanying pint of Chieftain IPA. We'll be back!

A walk in The Botanics was necessary afterwards, and was all Autumnal and lovely like, before getting the bus back our way to catch the teatime showing of The Banshees Of Inisherin (second time for me, first viewing for her) and all the sadness and the bleakness and the humour all merged into one - there may have been tears - and I realised even more than last time that this film really does deliver one heck of an emotional clout. We had to go the pub straight after just to get ourselves together a bit before returning home, get all our senses in check an' that. Film of the year? I'm not about to call that one *just* yet but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
