Frida
Soooo lovely to have an extra hour in bed, guilt-free...especially after another rough night with a coughing Nate Rafa.
We took baguette and cheese to the local beach. We rarely come here as it's usually jam-packed, but at this point in the season there's space on the beach and still good weather. We had a few hours there playing in the sand, reading, chilling. It sounds idyllic, but for honesty's sake, it was only idyllic for the second half. Part 1 was grumpy kids and grumpy mom for various reasons. But we managed to all turn our moods round and appreciate the place and time together. Extra pic of the beach. Nate came home soaked and covered in sand.
Home for showers (Nate, ha!) and sorting Asha's fancy dress costume for a party tomorrow. She wants to g as Frida Kahlo, one of her heroes. Asha made the earrings, and the outfit is an old beach coverup I was on the verge of giving away. Turns out Asha loves it so I'll be giving it to her to have as a summer dressing gown.
Danny's home late tonight - we're all looking forward to him being back!
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Beauty on our doorstep.
2) Asha's love of colour.
3) Moods lifted.
