Godinton House gardens

Backblip.
Hard to choose which photo to blip today as there were a few that I liked but I choose this one of Godinton House from one of the colourful borders.
An emotional day as we started with a visit to my Auntie Jeans bungalow. Kevin is getting ready to put it on the market and asked us if we would like to go round and see if there was anything we would like. It felt strange going in without A Jean being there and going through her things. There were a few family items that I took including a ‘magic’ box, some brass boots and little china basket that belonged to my Nan. There were a few old family photos too , one large one of my Nan when she was a toddler. My Auntie had said it was to go to me years ago but was not sure if Kevin wanted it so ai was pleased it was there. A few tears were shed :(
Next stop was to put the carved wooden plaque on my Dads grave. Mum trimmed the grass and Paul and Mike made a hole for the plaque stick to be placed. We also fixed the bug house. We’re very pleased with the quality of the plaque, just my Dads name and beautiful carved into English Oak.
We went on to Oare marshes for a walk. You now have to pay for the carpark, by smart phone, luckily there was a spot on the road so we parked there. A breezy walk to the left. Lots of geese and egrets . Lots of finches feeding too but the bearded tits that I was hoping to see stayed hidden.
After picnic in the car we went to Godinton House just outside Ashford.
Lovely gardens with plenty of flowers still in bloom. I liked the wall garden and the Italian garden, plenty of interesting things to photograph.
A take away Chinese for dinner , very tasty :)
