Passing Place on a single track road

Always a topic of conversation at some time or other.

When we have people staying as in house sitters as an example the aim is to explain the reason for passing places; to allow you to stop when an oncoming car is in view, try to look ahead to avoid reversing. Also, to stop in a PP if a vehicle is travelling behind and allow it to pass.
